The Connemara English Language School is based in an area of outstanding natural beauty. Connemara is a well known tourist destination famed for the 12 Bens Mountain range and amazing ocean scenery. The school is located on The Wild Atlantic Way.
The school has two bases in Letterfrack; a two hundred year old Irish cottage with a natural thatch roof. The cottage has been extended to the rear and also includes a commercial kitchen which our students use every week and purpose built classrooms at Heatherhill beside Heatherhill Farm Cottages.
We also use additional classrooms at the local primary school during July and August. We have full use of the school facilities which are located adjacent to our classtrooms in Heatherhill.
The school is based in Letterfrack village.
Letterfrack is the location of the Connemara National Park and Diamond Mountain.
There are boat trips available from Letterfrack pier.
The village has a choice of pubs, restaurants and a good supermarket.
Letterfrack village is a centre for arts, music and culture in the local area.
Traditional Irish music and dance is available every week in Letterfrack.
Letterfrack is a small, quiet and friendly village.
Clifden, Galway city and Westport are easily accessible by bus and car.
The Connemara area is an amazing natural location with mountains, lakes, rivers, white sandy beaches, bogs and cliffs. It also boasts rare and beautiful fauna and flora and abundant animal and sea life.
The local people have a rich cultural heritage which they are delighted to share with visitors to the area.
They are monuments of interest from ancient Celtic times and castles from a more recent historical period.
Connemara is a place people return to and returning visitors are welcomed with open arms. |
