Exam Preparation Courses

As an official centre for Cambridge exam preparation centre we provide courses of study for all Cambridge exams :

All year round we offer exam courses as follows:

1. An initial placement test.
2. General English at the relevant level in the mornings ( 9.30 to 12.45 - Monday to Friday) for 15 hours followed by specific exam preparation classes for 10 hours in the afternoons (14.30 to 16.30 – Monday to Friday) in small groups of a maximum of 6 students.
3. Final mock test exam or Cambridge exam at local exam centre.

1. Initial placement test and application.
2. 25 week English language course for IELTS preparation.
3. 15 hours per week minimum – afternoon classes can be arranged if required.
4. Suitable for students from outside EU area.
5. Aimed at students going on to study at English speaking universities.

On specified dates we offer Intensive FCE and CAE courses as follows:

Option One:

12 week intensive Exam Preparation Course (FCE and CAE) from March to June (minimum B1 level)

1. Initial mock exam which will be marked and used to highlight areas of strength and weakness.
2. 15 hours per week of exam preparation from 9.30 to 12.45 each morning (Monday to Friday).
3. On-line course of study to correspond to the class work will be set by class teacher to be completed by the student in the afternoon, evening and at weekends.
4. Extra lessons are available as required.
5. The relevant exam can then be taken at the local examination centre at the beginning of June.
6. Cost = €2160.

Option Two:

12 week intensive Combined Exam Preparation Course (FCE and CAE) from March to June (minimum B1 level)

1. Initial mock exam which will be marked and used to highlight areas of strength and weakness.
2. 8 weeks of intensive on-line exam preparation overseen by teachers from The Connemara English Language School and including essay correction and Skype lessons (see; Gold CELS on-line course).
3. Four weeks of exam preparation in our school in Letterfrack for 15 hours per week from 9.30 to 12.45 each morning (Monday to Friday).
4. Four weeks of on-line course of study to correspond to the class work and will be set by class teacher to be completed by the student in the afternoon, evening and at weekends.
5. Extra lessons are available as required.
6. The relevant exam can then be taken at the local examination centre at the beginning of June.
7. Cost = €999.

Option Three:

Four week Super Intensive Exam Preparation Course (FCE and CAE) from October to November.

1. Initial mock exam which will be marked and used to highlight areas of strength and weakness.
2. 25 hours per week of exam preparation from 9.30 to 12.45 each morning (Monday to Friday) and from 14.30 to 16.30 each afternoon (Monday to Friday).
3. On-line course of study to correspond to the class work will be set by class teacher to be completed by the student in the evening and at weekends.
4. Extra lessons are available as required.
5. The relevant exam can then be taken at the local examination centre at the beginning of December.
6. Cost = €1360

Accommodation for Exam Preparation Students.

There are two accommodation options;

1. Host family accommodation.
   The student will have a single room in a family close to the school (within a 6 miles radius).
   Breakfast and dinner will be provided each day and lunch at the weekends.
   Cost = €195 per week.
2. Private room in shared accommodation.
   The student will have a room in a shared house with use of bathroom, kitchen, sitting room and gardens. This accommodation is beside the school in Letterfrack village. It does not include meals.
   Cost = €120 per week with shared bathroom.
   €140 per week with private bathroom.
