The courses are run at The Connemara School of Language and Cultural Studies at Heatherhill Cottages , Letterfrack, Connemara, County Galway. Connemara is an area of outstanding natural beauty.It is full of rugged mountains, pristine, white sandy beaches, breath-taking views and quaint villages. Letterfrack is a picturesque village at the centre of Connemara. The Connemara National Park and Diamond Mountain are a two minute walk from the Connemara School of Language and Cultural Studies. There are boat trips from the near-by pier and you can fish in the Atlantic ocean or watch the dolphins jump depending on the day. The village has a good selection of shops, pubs and restaurants.

The Letterfrack Furniture College which is part of the Galway Mayo Institute of Technology is based in Letterfrack village only a two minute walk from the Connemara School of English Language and Cultural Studies. Two hundred students study degree courses in furniture design and teaching as well as post-graduate courses at the Furniture College in Letterfrack. A library and computer facilities are open to the public at the Furniture College. There are lots of activities in the area close to Letterfrack from diving, surfing, hill walking and mountain biking to gorge walking, windsurfing, kite surfing and mountaineering. All these activities can be enjoyed in this world renowned area of beauty and outdoor adventure.
Galway city and Clifden are both near-by and offer a wide range of activities, places of interest, festivals and shops. There is a wealth of history and cultural activities available both in the immediate Letterfrack area and further a field in Galway city and Mayo. The area is a very busy tourist destination particularily in the summer months. Irish music and dance feature in all the cultural events and festivels that take place in the area throughout the year.
