English For Business
This course is designed to improve English communication skills in a business context. Important business skills can be practised including marketing presentations, taking part in meetings, negotiating, and telephoning. Students will also have the oppurtunity to develop writing skills (business letters, memos, etc..) and business vocabulary through the study of topics such as advertising, business travel, intercultural communication, personnel and business ethics.
Students can study for a minimum of one week, 15 hours perweek but can increase the length and duration of the course as needed. Students will have three hours of one to one tuition built into their course as a minimum but this can be increased as required.
Teaching on this course is of a very high standard and teachers are experienced in business as well as qualified teachers.
The location of the Connemara School of Language and Cultural Studies in Letterfrack is an ideal place to concentrate on studies and to relax in very scenic surroundings. The Heatherhill campus is a further oasis of tranquility and beauty, which encourages maximum learning and relaxation for students. The campus is set on 11 acres of landscaped gardens and natural terrain in the shadow of the beautiful Diamond mountain and Connemara National Park. Lessons may also be held at the Letterfrack Furniture College which is a third level campus of the Galway Mayo Institute of Technology, only three minutes walk from the Connemara School of Language and Cultuural Studies.
Accommodation can be provided at the campus at Heatherhill in one of 8 large, 6 bedroomed houses. The Heatherhill Cottages offer a very high standard of accommodation. Business students can also opt for accommodation in the 5 star Atlantic Vista which is in near-by Renvyle. This luxurious house has the most amazing ocean views and is once again a tranquil and idyllic place to study English. Meals can be provided at all accommodation options, and are prepared by a chef who is from a local award winning restaurant. A daily cleaning service is available on request.
Hotel and host family accommodation can also be organised as requested by students.
Additional activities are recommended to business English students and there are lots to choose from including; fly fishing, sea angling, hillwalking, sailing, golf, surfing, scuba diving, cooking and painting to name a few. Evening entertainment can also become an integral part of the business students' course of study and can include Irish music and dance, music sessions, evenings at the theatre and taking part in local events.
Airport transfer and additional transport can be organised for students as requested.
